Story Behind the Song
The Ballad was recorded in about six hours. Their is two main guitars the acoustic lead and the backing rythmn. It was recorded in the July of '02 in Breckenridge, Colorado. Each track was recored seperatly using a Fender strat and Yamaha Acoustic. Not to many takes really. The lead guitar is one long lead track off the cuff. No splicing.
Lyrics
This was my loneliest accomplishment sitting here today. Watching the world go by and knowing your so far away. I thought it was a trip we took. But somehow you never came home. I sat here waiting baby, I was left here cold and alone. Knowing that your never coming back, never seemed to hurt me. Until I started thinking back to the way you surely split me. Did you think it was a joke? Did ya even listen? Or when it came to a care in the world, did ya throw your hair back and hardly listen?
It was you. I'm still stuck on you.
It was you. I'm still stuck on you.
And though the days may change and the name's the same you still won't come my way. No, no.
So, where were you when the days had changed. And you said you'ld be mine and we would stay the same. Yeah, we didn't look back. We just kept on trucking. We didn't hold much, but it was more than nothing. I thought it'ld get us by. I guess I thought too much. To see you pass me by was just way too much. Yeah, people may change but when it comes to something. Nothing ever changes baby! Never! Nothing!
And that's you. I'm still stuck on you. It was you. I'm still stuck on you. And though they days may change and the name's the same. You still won't come my way. No, no!
