Story Behind the Song
It was June of 2001 and I was meditating on the guitar riff which came to be THE BOND. I could envision this story of one wife of a soldier on one side, writing a letter to another wife of a soldier who was on the other side.
She wrote of the last letter her husband wrote her. The letter told the story of how he had met a man from the opposing side on a cease fire day, and how good of friends they had become. They exchanged addresses and the next day had to fight each other and both died.
The wife made it her duty to fight for peace.
The biggest irony is that the song was written just before September 11.
Kris. Peace.
Lyrics
From the daughter of life,
to the sister of violence,
I sing this song today,
To end all the silence,
We've gotta open the door,
We've gotta let each other in,
We've gotta feel the love,
We've yet to feel anything,
Chorus:
The Bond that ties our energy
With the love that lies inbetween.
To a brother of mine,
From a mother who lost,
The only man she ever loved,
To a useless nothing cause.
I we felt the love,
I wish I knew what I was fighting for,
Wish I had the power
To change this world.
Chorus:
The Bond that ties our energy,
With the love that lies inbetween.
To a lover that died,
on that monumental day,
I give this song to you,
to ease up the pain.
I finally felt the love,
I finally knew what I was fighting for,
Finaly felt the power,
To change this world.
Chorus:
The Bond that ties our energy,
With the love that lies inbetween.
