A Christmas song, in the traditional Festive Season musical style, but with a very sad & appealing lyric. (Note: This is shortened version). |

Story Behind the Song
"Is this our last Christmas together?" - the first line says it all. Unusually, this is a sad Christmas song. It is in traditionally 3/4 time, with those Christmassy sounds we know so well, but with a MASSIVELY COMMERCIAL melody! I'm proud of the lyrics too, with clever lines like "There is no "L" (Noël) in Love any longer". I feature this song strongly at SongLand.com, and especially at http://www.songland.com/christmas.htm - I TOTALLY believe in it as a Hit Song and a potential Christmas standard. Listen, and you'll surely see what I mean...
Lyrics
Here is a part of the lyrics:-
1. Is this our last Christmas together?
Will this be our festive farewell?
Will the mistletoe die when Santa goes by,
And carols have nothing to tell?
2. There is no "L" in Love any longer,
There are baubles and bangles and tears.
And the tree seems to cry when Santa goes by -
He's lonely, he's covered with fears.
Refrain. Silent Night, Holy Night, don't leave us this way!
On Christmas Day.
