    Story Behind the Song
This piece is played with the Stradivari "Ex Boccherini/ Ex Cassado" from Cremona 1709.I am in doubt of the originality of this piece. But it belongs to the beginners repertoire. I met a good friend in Taiwan who asked me about my new releases and I told about this recording. She said: "that' easy to play". She wanted to say: why do you record a beginners piece. I had to lough. Nothing is easy. You play a simple piece but you want more than a simple expression, right? I had to study this piece with Tortelier as an exercise when I just started my studies with him. If you listen to a great master like him you understand that there is nothing easy and it does'nt matter whether a piece is technically easy for a beginneror not . For me it is the same now whether I play Tchaikovsky's Rococo Variation or this piece because the techical aspect does not count anymore.

    Lyrics
There a tons of baroque music left and arranged for a cello which has nothing to do with the ancient instrument. What to do? Must I play on my instument like on a baroque cello? Sorry, I cannot. It does not satisfy me.
