	Story Behind the Song this is just a song about me thinking back to my mother's life before my existence. reverting back to when she was a child and viewing her, thinking how strange it is that this little girl would one day grow up and be my parent. also a little history of what she lived through before i was born. Lyrics verse 1: in '41 with an october breeze, she floated down from heaven and found her disease. big brown eyes and a baby's smile, but no one ever noticed until after the child was grown. she seemed to be waiting for something, something to free her mind. lost in the shuffle of seven, she came to see that love was blind. chorus: mary jane had those little fingers. where they bigger than mine when i was four? little fingers and big ideas. she danced in my dreams when she wept on the floor. verse 2: in '68 she had no intentions. where was i to save her from her world? she was married to a preaching man, who preached away their love on a crown of thorns. tow people destined for somewhere. anywhere but with each other. she walked right through the fire, and through the pain she became alive. chorus verse 3: i came around when they weren't even speaking. i held on to the one who called to me the foundation of the dreams i had. she lighted up the pathways and she broke down my walls. i woudln't have been this without that. i wouldn't have seen what i was shown. that little girl made all the difference. it amazes me how much i've grown. chorus end
