Story Behind the Song
Matt and I wrote act three in a single day in his apartment. Nine hours, eight bloody fingers, two burritos, and seven cans of fruit cocktail later we had completed a masterpiece. I personally always attributed it to the fruit cocktail and that damn heavy syrup. Mind-altering stuff. Two days later, we went into a studio to record Erosion in its entirity. We pretty much just played through the set live, but by the time we got to act three, we had already spent more money than we had originally planned. Consequently, it's the least polished track on the album, but also probably my favorite. Three years later, I used it as the soundtrack to my experimental video short "Still Life," which was nominated for some awards, despite the fact that I was really just making fun of experimental films. It did have a good music track, though, and lots of hardcore nudity.
