Story Behind the Song
Originally the song was being written for a short film my husband was working on about orange juice(kind of).
The project was cancelled and so I wrote the song to reflect rain when the sun is shinning. This often happens in florida during the summer. When my family first moved to Miami, my father refered to it as Liquid Sunshine.
Lyrics
“Liquid Sunshine”
Blue Heat,
Coming up from the concrete.
Glass road
winds around up ahead.
The air is thick,
and when you breath it in,
Blue heat burns underneath your skin.
But there’s no other place
that I’d rather be.
Soon the sun will rain down on me.
Hay Que Rico!
(CHORUS)
Liquid Sunshine is gonna make everything all right.
Liquid Sunshine makes you feel fine.
Liquid Sunshine is gonna make everything all right
Liquid Sunshine makes you feel fine.
Bring on the clouds.
Fill up the sky.
Sunshine drapes over and embraces each cloud with love and light.
Then begin to paint,
with each drop that falls upon my face.
And there is no other place,
no other place I’d rather be.
‘Cause the sun, she still smiles down on me.
Hay Que Rico!
(CHORUS)
I’m dancing now in the Liquid Sunshine.
Open mouth in the Liquid Sunshine,
to fill me up with the light and warmth I love so much.
If I could only let it fill me up.
Hay Que Rico!
Dame, dame el Liquido sol
Liquid Sunshine
Dame dame el Liquido sol
Liquid Sunshine
Dame dame el liquido sol
Liquid Sunshine
Dame dame el liquido sol
Hay Que Rico!
