	A Rock'N'Roll, Surfer, Christmas song in the tradition of my musical hero, Brian Wilson. But instead of Mr Wilson's patented, heavenly harmonies we have the grating voices of greedy little children! And speaking of "Little Children", this song owes a debt to the feel of that specific Brian Wilson composition. Astute Brian fans will also notice a musical tribute in the form of a reference to the chord changes in one of the songs on The Beach Boys Love You album. Can you guess which one? It's in the second 8 measures of this song. And the "clip-clop" percussion effect (I used coconuts!) from the slow 6/8 trot of "God Only Knows" (he used soda bottle bottoms!) to the livelier 6/8 gallop of "Wouldn't It Be Nice" and the "California Girls"/"Little Girl I Once Knew" organ arpeggios and wild surf guitar by my brother Kenny and sleigh bells of course! The lyrics are sarcastic, but we put a little love in there too. The image of excited children tearing open their presents in a frenzy on Christmas morning! Now, mind you, I'm not comparing my songwriting to Mr. Wilson's, I just ripped off... er..., paid "musical tribute to" him with "references". If you're going to borrow, borrow from the best!

	Story Behind the Song My brother and I didn't have alot of money for Christmas presents this year, so we thought we'd give our relatives and friends some original Christmas music as a gift. So I guess you could say it was a sort of a little-drummer-boy-type-of-a-situation. The song was written in the studio, on the fly when Ken and I looked at each other and wondered what we were gonna do. It took just a few minutes to write. We did one take, immediately after writing down chord changes, and then I spent a few minutes jotting down lyrics while Kenny tuned his guitar and then a couple hours on all the overdubs. Lyrics Christmas time is coming fast 'cause Santa's on the march! Autumn time is in the past 'cause Santa's on the march! 'Tis the season for receiving Love thy neighbor and amends We've been good but we'll get even After all this goodwill ends! The holidays are here at last 'cause Santa's on the march! Shopping days are ending fast 'cause Santa's on the march! Rippin' open all our presents, We've been nice and that's no fibbin' Now there's no polite pretenses Chewin' through paper and spittin' out ribbons! I woke up on Christmas morning One tick after midnight chimed Now by law it's Christmas morning I'm gonna need lots of time!
