Story Behind the Song
The original tune was inspired by the L.A. County Sheriff's Dept. Transportation Bus Rodeo. After learning that the School Bus drivers also have a similar yearly competition, we got right to work to tune up the original tune with new words and sound effects.
Lyrics
Rollin, rollin, rollin, keep those buses goin
We dont have painted clowns,
to make you laugh and shout.
But we have dispatchers
each pullin their hair out.
And we dont have no bulls,
all penned up in a coup.
We just have children, that we transport,
In our hoop.
Rollin, rollin, rollin, keep those buses goin
And we dont have no trails,
like cowboys used to ride.
We travel freeways and the highways,
all in stride.
And we dont carry beans and pork,
like the old west.
To transport children with their school books,
is our quest.
Rollin, rollin, rollin, keep those buses goin
So now, wed like to show,
Just what we know,
at the School Bus Rodeo.
Our skills, we shall compete,
when divers meet,
at the School Bus Rodeo.
Rollin, rollin, rollin, keep those buses goin
We dont ride horses,
and we dont take any flack.
We pick em up, drop em off,
then bring em back.
And unlike cowboys, we dont fall,
and break our bones.
We take our metal ride,
maneuver through the cones.
Rollin, rollin, rollin, keep those buses goin
We dont yell yee-hah, giddy-up,
or even Whoa.
We just say, Get on Board,
then off to school we go.
And we dont have the smell of horses,
or the fuss.
Just lots of children,
who like yellin on the bus.
Rollin, rollin, rollin, keep those buses goin
So now, wed like to show,
Just what we know,
at the School Bus Rodeo.
Our skills, we shall compete,
when divers meet,
at the School Bus Rodeo.
Rollin, rollin, rollin, keep those buses goin
And our skills were gonna show,
at the School Bus Rodeo.
