Story Behind the Song
Lyrics and rythm written at completely different times without consideration of eachother. A few minor changes and they were a perfect fit. Recorded after seeing Steve Vai with a group of my greatest friends. Felt like the glass of wine after a good meal (even though I dont drink wine). Inspired by a night of great guitar.
Lyrics
The combination changed once more,
as things were starting to make sense.
Thought I knew what was in store,
then we're merely occupants.
In a world thats growing cold,
we take it all in hand.
Protecting what we stole,
claiming ownership to land.
And I say...
What were we thinking?
Was that the plan?
What were we thinking?
My fellow man!
It takes a whole lifetime to learn,
just how to get along.
We're all tryin' not to get burned,
pretending to be strong.
And deep inside us all,
the innocence remains.
How did we get off course?
We merely passing trains.
And I say..
What were we thinking?
Was that the plan?
What were we thinking?
My fellow man!
The combination changed once more,
was it all coinsidence?
Thought I'd finally reached the core,
of our inhabitance.
In a world thats throwing stones,
We get hit now and then.
It only helps to show us all,
that we're only mortal men.
And I say...
Do your own thinking.
Take things in your own hands.
This ship is sinking.
Lets make a stand!
LETS MAKE A STAND!!!
