my fundamental flaw was the last track we wrote as a three piece, we wrote it during the day in glasgow while we were on tour, it has that 'lots of components' feel to it. at the time we were listening to loads of southern stuff, 90 day men, burning airlines. the bass line at the end has that sort of thing. i've always thought of this as the sister track to atoms dream in technicolor from zfc, lyrically its a continuation of that. |

Lyrics
this is the last game - who wants my place?
this is the last game - who wants my place?
this is the last game - who wants my place?
the roman empire was hapless with passion
with guilty pleasure an army at its back
while euphrates ran deep with disquiet and lies, lies
and all but one of my ideas are stolen
my guilty pressure - i took them from you
inconsolable - ad infinitum?
we must take our blame, or remain the same
how commonplace is our gutless inaction?
what propels our indifference to attack?
segmented, our flaws will be ousted
we must take the stage - or remain in the same place
remain in the same place
tell the people the truth
tell the people the truth
go
this is my fundamental flaw
everything conveniently placed there were two parts of you one i could not replace
this is my fundamental flaw, achingly yours but never alone, persistent and difficult to find
