Story Behind the Song
This song deals with a search for lost memories through association with sensations and feelings. A song of innocence, love, beauty and sensuality.
Remembering a photo of a happy face in the snow - well, actually a happy Kate Bush in the snow.
Peace, Love and good times happiness stuff ...
The song took about five weeks to develop and about a week rto record. I wrote it in Spain. And lots of takes.
Lyrics
Happiness is so hard to find
I know you are somewhere in my mind
The cinnamon sweet, the eyes of a child
The sound of your voice, the call of the wild
The fog in the night, the cold and the frost
I’m searching for something – something I had lost
Happy face in the snow
Your eyes are closed but you know
Don’t be afraid
Or hide away
Your not alone
Anymore
Sometimes we just do not see
I left you alone far away from me
A tear on your cheek, the love you impart
The warmth of your breath, so sensual at heart
You wear me in dreams, a hand in a glove
I’m searching for someone – someone that I loved
Happy face in the snow
Your eyes are closed but you know
Don’t be afraid
Or hide away
Your not alone
Anymore
I asked myself was there a time
When I just forgot that you could be mine
The white of a lily, the red of a rose
The green of the valley, the purple of prose
The brightness of light, the mist and the dew
I’m longing for someone – that someone is you
Happy face in the snow
Your eyes are closed but you know
Don’t be afraid
Or hide away
Your not alone
Anymore
Happy face in the snow
Your eyes are closed but you know
Don’t be afraid
Or hide away
Your not alone
Anymore
