    Story Behind the Song
This is the first song my brother Ray and I recorded since he moved back to Seattle. He played the acoustic and sang .It took him only
three takes. A couple of days later I added my background vocals and lead guitar. The original version of this song is on his web page. Just click on "Links" to hear it.

    Lyrics
    The Valley

    A momentary lapse of time
I'm spending here in this valley of mine
    Where its too damn hot
    And there's too much crime
    Were behind

So we drink and we smoke till' we wish it away
And the same damn thing happens day after day
And the only escape is the music that I play

    I hover then I burst
Since birth this is my curse
And I step the steps rehearsed
In essence it's just the same as the first
Yes it's just the same as the first

I've given up more times than I could count
But today's my day I'm gonna talk out loud
    Where theres no punk asses
    No more bitchy girls around

    I hover then I burst
Since birth this is my curse
And I step the steps rehearsed
In essence it's just the same as the first
Yes it's just the same as the first

    (solo)

    I hover then I burst
Since birth this is my curse
And I step the steps rehearsed
In essence it's just the same as the first
Yes it's just the same as the first
