	Story Behind the Song Written to the people of Flight 93 who averted further death by fighting their hijackers on September 11, 2001. Lyrics THANK YOU FLIGHT 93 It started out as any other flight. They pierced the clouds to greet the morning light. Then a group of hijackers appeared. In their heart they knew their end was near. They summoned courage buried deep inside. Their own fears they tried their best to hide. And in one final act of bravery They risked their lives to fight our enemy. They called their families and said “Good-bye” They said “I Love You! Honey, Please don’t cry!” “We have business we must take care of.” “Hug the children and give them my love.” “Bomb or no bomb we will not stand by And watch more innocent people die. One way or another this plane is going down. Dead or alive we will touch the ground!” Thank you Flight 93 for standing up on the plane. Trapped high above the earth you died for those on the ground So much to loose but heaven to gain While some prayed others rushed the door Knocking hijackers to the floor. Despite their injuries they would not quit. Then finally they were in the cockpit. They fought and fought to try to take control. Thank God they found the strength to be so bold. If they hadn’t you can bet for sure The grieving families would be a whole lot more. I do believe before they hit the ground From heaven came a great rejoicing sound. For your act of sacrificial love There’s a home prepared for you up above. Now we’re left to mourn their death and sing their praise For being heroes in so many ways.
