	Story Behind the Song 12.25.02-1.55vh: i found strength in giving up. i let myself sink into the depths of utter dementia and awakened within myself a Beast. the Beast gave me the power to destroy, but i had to be destroyed to see that power. give in, maggot, and you will see that power as well. this is another incarnation of an ancient Xenosaur song, previously known as "deepspawn". "HYDROSLEEP" is an updated version inspired by recent events which are now making things even harder than ever. i feel as though i am sinking again, so this all seems very appropriate right now. one might wonder what the references to maggots is all about. i didn't know at first either, but now i do. "HYDROSLEEP" is about reacting to being damaged to the point of near-total spiritual death. going into hydrosleep is essentially going into hibernation, or dormancy. hmm.. dormancy. i like that better. can you guess why? anyway.. broken down and nearly dead, the organism must enter hydrosleep and rebuild itself. look at it as being born again. one might call it a Xenosaur-style baptism, though i hate to use any religious terms. in this New Infancy, (neonatis?) the organism is existing in something akin to a larval stage. it's not a very pretty stage, either. hence, we might say the organism is something foul and disgusting.. ..something like a maggot, perhaps.
