Story Behind the Song
I was laying on the couch on Christmas Eve a few years ago and thought "Hey, I'm a songwriter. I should write a Christmas song." I promptly fell asleep! I awoke the next morning and this song was going through my head. I wrote it down and sang it for a friend a half hour later. It was a great Christmas present.
Lyrics
It's Christmas morn, the first light of dawn,
'Tis the day that Christ is born.
A frosty chill in the air,
Feel the joy everywhere.
Joy, 'tis the day that Christ is born.
Sing out, Joy to the World, it's Christmas morn.
There's a light covering of twinkling snow,
It’s the white Christmas, we were dreaming of
Sleigh bells ring a ling, ding a ling
Church bells and the people singing...
Joy, 'tis the day that Christ is born.
Sing out, Joy to the World, it's Christmas morn.
The little children with their eyes so bright,
Opening their gifts with pure delight.
"Oh Mom, Oh Dad, look what I've got."
"Oh thank you, Santa" and the parent hearts fill with...
Joy, 'tis the day that Christ is born.
Sing out, Joy to the World, it's Christmas morn.
Peace on earth, good will to men,
To all our families and all our friends.
Feel the spirit of the infant boy.
It's Christmas, time to share the joy.
Joy, 'tis the day that Christ is born.
Sing out, Joy to the World, it's Christmas morn.
Share the… Joy, 'tis the day that Christ is born.
Sing out, Joy to the World, it's Christmas morn.
