Story Behind the Song
Cory had a chord progression on the acoustic guitar that fit nice with a preprogrammed rhythm track on his Korg Triton. James added a bass line to it. Some background atmospheric keys were also added for some depth, and Cory and James then came up with some guitar and piano solos. James came up with the main vocal melody and lyrics for the chorus, and Melissa Boyle and James came up with the rest of the vocal melodies and lyrics, revolving around the "Destiny" theme of the chorus. Melissa then layed down her vocals as the final touch to the song.
Lyrics
Is it in the stars?
Is it meant to be?
Looking down the road,
Together, you and me
Feel it in your heart,
Feel it in your soul,
Life of emptiness,
You can make me whole
Wandering alone,
I can find my way
Back to you again
Drifting from the path,
I've gone astray,
Will you be there at the end?
You cry
Is it destiny?
You to be with me,
Is it destiny?
We try
To seek out the key
To the door that leads
To your destiny
With me
What is in your heart?
Where do we go from here?
Can you feel my pain?
Alone is what I fear
Are we steady to the ground?
Or a feather in the wind?
Should we end it now?
Or when can we begin?
Wandering alone,
I can find my way
Back to you again
Drifting from the path,
I've gone astray,
Will you be there at the end?
You cry
Is it destiny?
You to be with me,
Is it destiny?
We try
To seek out the key
To the door that leads
To your destiny
With me
Is it in the stars?
Is it meant to be?
Looking down the road,
Together, you and me
Feel it in your heart,
Feel it in your soul,
Life of emptiness,
You can make me whole
Wandering alone,
I can find my way
Back to you again
Drifting from the path,
I've gone astray,
Will you be there at the end?
You cry
Is it destiny?
You to be with me,
Is it destiny?
We try
To seek out the key
To the door that leads
To your destiny
With me
