This is the first song we recorded at Diecaster Studios, and most of the parts you hear were spontaneous one-takes, including the vocals and guitar solos, with only harmonies punched in. I think it sounds fairly nice, but listen and judge for youself. |

Story Behind the Song
Once upon a time, the coallition now known as Spires Drive formed in the basement of the home of the infamous Ned Flanders with the intent of writing new songs. Brew had the words and the music and provided "Thick-as-sausage riffing," Skunk worked up a funky groove, and Hodas slammed some down n' dirty bass and sang it up. You are listening to the result.
Lyrics
The way you left your dreams behind and found a way to pass the time, waiting for a savior to arrive. Lies will take you far enough to realize that you're not tough enough to start believing in yourself. So what do you think now? The glazed expression on your face, you're desperate for a change of pace, and I can't help no matter what I say to you. Regretting who you've come to be, the ugly side that I can't seem to understand. You're no different. It's a fight you'll never win, trying to comprehend existance and keep guessing. Forever distant, you had your chance and you missed it. Amazing that you've come this far and still you don't know who you are. I know it's hard. Transgressions have been inked in blood, burned your bridges and given up. Not strong enough to put your trust in anyone else. So what do you think now?
