	Story Behind the Song Santa crashs into Ireland and receives some help from the 'wee' people. Lyrics Santa was flying over Ireland When a shooting star hit him in the head His sleigh crashed down in Killarney Throwing him and all the gifts out off his sled Some wee people found him on a hillside It was plain he was dazed and confused Santa said that he was still much to dizzy Could a leprechaun finish up his route There were Shamrocks on the sleigh And Rudolph's green nose led the way Following a rainbow shooting past the moon And the bells upon the reigns Played like the pipes while Lenny sang A blessing from St Patty to all of you Well Lenny the smallest of the leprechauns Said they'd help Santa finish up his run They'd gather the presents that they could find And replace the lost and the broken ones They found the sleigh and packed it with children's presents Shillelaghs, tams, kilts and wee blarney stones Some pints for the children's fathers And mothers dreams in every shape and type Christmas morning the kiddies were all surprised When they walked out and saw the Christmas tree There were shamrocks hanging from all boughs The presents were all wrapped in lucky green The stockings had all been turned to emerald With little pots of gold left in plain sight And they heard the pipes playin' Merry Christmas As Lenny and the reindeer drove on their merry flight
