This is an "unplugged, Peter-Townshend-sounding" piece on my other (Unplugged) CD: "Road to Indian Creek" released Jan. 2002
CD: Road to Indian Creek   Label: Independent
Credits: John Mascaro-singer, songwriter, guitarist. Mike Desch Harmonica on several of the other CD cuts

    Story Behind the Song
The song was written while camping out in the beautiful mountain town of Telluride, Colorado on July 22, 1982 during Telluride's "first" and unfortunately LAST Rock & Roll music festival. The song did not get recorded in a studio however until 1984 and finally transferred to CD in January,2002 as part of a 9-song, all original "unplugged" collection of songs written mostly in the 1980's.
The song was inspired by the fact that I felt a bit "stagnated" where I was living at the time and a dire urge to explore-and explore I did!-Over 5,000 miles, 6 weeks on the road from Colorado to the Canadian Rockies! The song was one of seven I wrote and recorded between March, 1982 and early, 1983.

    Lyrics
1st Verse: Aint it time that we run away from it all?
Can't you feel or hear a distant drummer call? I want you to turn around and let it be. I want you to shed those chains and set yourself free
2nd Verse: Ain't it time that we stop confusing ourselves?
Can't you feel you've got to stop abusing yourself?
I want you to look around and tell me what you see
I want you to be the one I know you can be

3rd Verse: Ain't it time that we find some piece of mind?
Can't you see you're gonna find true love this time?
I want you to let me know just how it feels
I want you to tell yourself "this time it's real"
