Story Behind the Song
Booze Creek was an extremely shallow creek that sort of snaked all through various neighborhoods of where I grew up. Part of it was natural, and part was, I dunno, man-made, or man-altered. We lived near that part, the manmade part with sloping concrete banks. The water was only about 1/2 inch deep, and the (concrete) floor of the creek was covered in this green slime moss stuff. You could walk across the creek, but slipping in the green stuff was a real danger, and really gross. I don't know whether the creek is really called Booze Creek or Boo's Creek, or perhaps that's not the name at all, but that's what we called it. And that's what I called this song.
