Story Behind the Song
From her first CD project titled, "Sheila Hayes & Company LIVE!" Ms. Hayes wrote the tune "Uncle Raspus" which honors the memory of her late grandfather John Elmer Akins, with pianist Joe Kaplowitz. Proceeds from that project were donated to the Battered Women's Shelters.
Daryl Alexander, Sr. of DAP Entertainment teamed with Ms. Hayes on her second CD. The single titled "Take A Chance" has received high ratings from radio audiences. This is the lyrical version of Mr. Alexander's instrumental version "Let's Take A Chance" from his "Tea For Two" CD.
While many artist set their sights on performing within the spectrum of the rainbow, the repertoire of hues which colours Ms. Hayes' critical artistry has been more centrally located. Through the miracle of the internet Ms. Hayes can now reach for sun, the moon, the stars, and the hearts of those touched by lyrical music. Her mission is to provide healing to broken hearts wounded from broken promises of love and to restore unconditional love that lasts..................
Lyrics
A melodic potpourri of harmonious vocals and music emitting the fragrance of a thousand bouquets. Just waiting for the romantic at heart.
Darryl Alexander and Ms. Hayes (former class mates) knew that they would one day work together on a musical project. Sooooo, Darryl took his bluesy instrumental "Lets Take A Chance" from his Album "Tea For Two" revamped the song, and commissioned Sheila to find the melody and penn lyrics that joined a marriage of music and vocals.
