Story Behind the Song
This one came through inspiration, as do all my songs reflecting on the nature of our relationship to God, of being a Human here on Earth, of learning to recognize True Love in the simplest of places.
A few different incarnations were tried before putting the song into this final form. Like the message itself, the song required simplicity in its musical arrangement.
Lyrics
A breath of air goes wafting by
A landlord slinkers on the sly
The world turns slowly, once again
A friend before we had no lie
A friend we thought would have to die
He's gone now, you're sayin to thee
He's gone away now, can't you see
Heaven waits for no man, dear
Who has himself torn asunder
But waits for those whose lives
Are likened only to God's thunder
For He gives breath to those in wait
To those who say: "I love You"
Yes, they are His, and they will shine
Oh yes, they will glow among you
I'm a man who's not afraid
To let go of his troubles
I'm a man who's pleased to say
I've found love amongst the rubble
So don't be afraid to ask for love
Don't be afraid to dare
Yes dare my friend, be happy again
Because He is here with you
To show you the truth inside of your heart
Be happy, I say, it's good for you
Be happy and let yourself glow
Be happy and let yourself go
Be happy and let yourself go
Be happy and let yourself . . .go
