	Story Behind the Song This song is about watching someone you deeply care about being torn apart by an emotionally abusive relationship, but having him/her be too stubborn to let you help. At this point in the scenario the narrator has decided that it's finally gone too far. The game of trust is a self-explanatory metaphor for what friendship should be, and in the end this character is freed from the abuse and lets him/herself be cared for in a healthy way.
