	Story Behind the Song When I'm Gone was written by Jeff Hicks. It marked the change in The Shattered's line-up as well as the band's style. Stevi Towns left, and the band embarked on a singer search before deciding to use rhythm guitarist Jeff Hicks as a singer/front man. Mike McShane was added as rhythm guitarist, but stayed for only a short time. When I'm Gone demonstrates Jeff Hicks' song writing abilities. Despite it's lengthy mid section, it has some good lyric content and a great coda melody. Bands of influence during this period were, early Church, U2, and Redd Kross.
