Story Behind the Song
I sat down one night, after a night of rehearsing with an extreme Metal band doing Venom covers and suchlikes, feeling thoroughly exhausted. I had it in my mind to write the sickest, most horrific, mindblowingly heavy black metal song you could possibly imagine.
Instead, this came out. Possibly the quietest, sweetest love song I've ever come out with!
Go figure.
This was written, almost by way of thanks, for someone who probably has absolutely no idea how much they helped me get through a very bad time.
Lyrics
God knows what became of me
All cut up from the pain of she
Consumed by hatred and jealousy
What went wrong?
You came and inspired me
And your songs left a legacy
I know they are telling me
Just where I belong...
In your arms (in your arms)
In your arms (in your arms)
In your arms
I know we can never be
Speaking realistically
Even that doesn't bother me
When you're gone
You live on in my memory
With your words and your voice still enchanting me
When I close my eyes, it's a fantasy
I am where I belong...
In your arms (in your arms)
In your arms (in your arms)
In your arms
I sense you're the same as me
No stranger to misery
And friends, they run out so easily
When you need someone strong
I may come across awkwardly
But there's a good heart inside of me
And a place for you there will always be
When everything's wrong
In my arms (in my arms)
In my arms (in my arms)
In my arms
In my arms
