Story Behind the Song
I was watching a TV show where Paul Brandt (US & Canadian Country Artist) was being interviewed. He was asked if he watched hockey when in Nashville and was that different than up in Canada. Paul replied it was different and gave an example. He was at a Predators game when a visiting player was sent to the Penalty Box. A big Predators fan, sitting behind him, got up and yelled: "Buddy, you're in the Truck." That was it, this song was born.
Lyrics
It don't take much to go hustling along
If you got to, you can sing a song
But when you're hurtin, you're out of luck
Cause your heart aches, and you're in the Truck
Chorus
You're in the Truck and out of luck
Your life's a turnin, but you're real stuck
Cause you been hurtin and cryin in vain
Hoping that Love would be back again
I remember the times I was all alone
I remember being so far from home
But never was I so short on luck
As when you left me in the Truck
(Chorus)
Ir ain't ever worked that way it seems
When life goes stompin on your dreams
Cause when your heart is broke in two
Then you learn it's up to you
If you know better than the other guy
Then get it together and don't be shy
You gotta know one thing about luck
You make your own . . .
So get out of that Truck
Chorus
You're in the Truck and out of luck
Your life's a turnin but you're real stuck
Cause you been hurtin and cryin in vain
But soon that Love will be back again
(repeat)
