Story Behind the Song
Nobody's Darling is one of the first songs written by the original line-up. We came up with this song in our studio in the Los Gatos hills in California. The female of topic is not known. The lyrics were written by Stevi Towns.
This song was track number two on our second demo which was recorded in Scott's Valley California. The mid section of this song features a strange guitar sound that was achieved by recording an acoustic guitar through a pick-up. Also note the vibra slap.
Bands of influence during this period were, Jetboy, Hanoi Rocks, LA Guns, Cheap Trick etc.
Nobody's Darling was one of my favorite songs to play live.
Lyrics
Verse I:
Looking in the mirror she's all alone
Baby sits and waits by the telephone
Hour after hour She's been out all day
Baby keeps hoping that you'll come to play
Chorus:
Liver your life all alone She's no darling
Nighttime She’s not at home She's no darling
Verse II:
Mommy and Daddy always stay up late
Because their little girl's on another date
Boys all know she's as cold as ice
Struttin' 'round town is her only vice
Chorus:
Bridge:
At night she dies
The times she cries
The tears that fill her eyes
Verse III:
Baby Baby Baby won't you ever know
Headed for destruction at an all time low
Keep on wondering if you'll ever see
Think to yourself will it always be
