Lyrics
SIMPLE GIFTS
Simple gifts, simple joys
we don't need expensive toys.
Search within, seek above
we need nothing more than love.
Please sit down, just be still;
let the heart hear, not the will.
Keep in mind, God is near.
Simple living, all is clear.
Come inside, calm your soul.
Our Lord alone will make you whole.
Nothing here will take the place
of His beatific face.
Family, work and friends;
always try to make amends.
Turn within, contemplate;
act with kindness, not with hate.
It's a simple prescription for living.
And this life is only a stepping-stone.
There can be peace and harmony
in all we say and do.
When we put God in the center,
we are never alone.
Simple gifts, simple joys
we don't need expensive toys.
Search within, seek above
we need nothing more than love.
Please sit down, just be still;
let the heart hear, not the will.
Keep in mind, God is near.
Simple living, all is clear.
'Tis the gift to be simple,
'tis the gift to be free;
'tis the gift to come down
where we ought to be.
And when we find ourselves in the place just right
We will be in the valley of love and delight.
