Story Behind the Song
This song has been through the board so many times. It originally didnt have the same guitar riffs. It had a more loop oriented riff. I tracked 5 layers of guitars, had it sounding like a killer wall of noise, but couldnt put down lyrics over that damn loop. So, I muted out the riffs, threw the cans back on my head, and hit record. I layed down the new guitar riff in one take. Layered on a couple extra riffs with different amps, and tones.
Lyrics
As i lay me down to sleep
in my mind the demons creep
Feel them now, moving in my skull
and my brain is starting to swell
all the blood running through ym veins
im feeling so very insane
all the things i cannot change
why’d it have to be this way?
(dance with the devil, the devil dont change, the devil changes you)
Opened my heart and let you inside
to get past the gate you fuckin lied
you acted like you gave a fuck
it didnt matter, you were there to suck
you’re looking at me, and lycanthropy
as i change at night
into what you cant see
So look at me now, as we all where masks
this was a game you didnt last in
(dance with the devil, the devil dont change, the devil changes you)
In this life nothing is forever
thats one thing you better remeber
the only thing to think about is yourself
to find a way to get through this hell
So march on now, through this life
and dont ever think things are alright
the game starts now, you cant resist
take that double bladed game piece into your wrists
