A pop/rock song about the unpredictability of life and positively looking to the future. Are we just another ray of light?
    Label: Rebel Road Media
Credits: Lyrics By: Jim Malec, Sean Lowery / Performed By: Ultraviolet (Chris Budiselic and David Ellis) / Remixed By: Knight Sky

    Story Behind the Song
The lyrics were written during the summer of 1999, and submitted across the world via e-mail to Australian pop sensation "UltraViolet". It was the first lyrical collaboration between songwriter Jim Malec (www.mp3.com/jmalec, where you can hear the original version of the song) and long time friend Sean Lowery (www.mp3.com/allyance). UV agreed to record the song, and it was sent back December of 1999. In 2000, UV began releasing their first singles to radio and were signed by a subsidiary of BMG. Not much has been heard in the 'States of UV since.

In October 2002, the song, which half belonged to Rebel Road Media (founded by Mr. Malec and Mr. Lowery), was then given to that label's newest act "Knight Sky" to remix and enliven for the 21st century audience.

For over two months, this song was constructed and unconstructed until the final blending and mixing was worthy enough to be called "Ray of Light."

In deciding what to call the new mix, "Knight Sky" decided to go with what had come their way recently, good fortune.

    Lyrics
    Standing at the threshold
    What is this I've found
    Could it be the answers
    To the questions goin' round
    Just beyond the valley
    Halfway to the dawn
    Past the point of rescue
    Tired of holding on

    There's a ray of light
Here in the dark of night
    Shining through the dark despair
    Of forever's yesterday's

    Just around the corner
    Still so far away
Do I dare to cross the border
Do I find the nerve to stay
If I take this giant leap
    There's a chance I might fall
If we learn from our mistakes
Is that a chance at all

    There's a ray of light
Here in the dark of night
    Shining through the dark despair
    Of forever's yesterday's
