A harpischord prelude followed by a Theme and Variations fugue for a string trio. My first! Done with MIDI. |

Story Behind the Song
I had just finished reading about the fugue form in Aaron Copland's "What To Listen For In Music", and I decided that I wanted to write one. In my MIDI class at school, I had started what was to become the prelude and decided to run with it. This whole thing took me around two months to write. I'm kind of proud of it. Writing a fugue is kind of like juggling - you have to keep everything in the air and out of the way of everything else, and yet still retain harmony. It's not a great fugue by any means, but as a first, I think it's pretty decent.
