Story Behind the Song
Close to the time of his death Jimi Hendrix said "This era of music started by The Beatles, it just has to come to an end, ya know, something new has to come." It seems that didn't happen at that time in any sort of grand scale. Though many of the influences that inspired this and other pieces tried groups like The Thinking Plague, Henry Cow, Slapp Happy, David Bowie and Brian Eno in their Berlin years, Polyrock with Philip Glass producing, Magma and even Pink Floyd to some extent.
