	A song written long ago when the Berlin Wall was still standing and the world seemed on the verge of an apocalypse. For many, music and drugs were the only escape from the depressing events of that time.
	Story Behind the Song I wrote this song about the Berlin Wall when it was still standing and symbolized the clash of wills between the communist and free worlds. There were continual protests about the escalation of the cold war and the increasingly deadly armaments that were being positioned for war by both sides. This song explores the despair that was growing in many young people during this time. Lyrics I came here in the early spring Looking for Siegfried and his Magic Ring. I found him but he couldn't sing: He was one more angel with a broken wing. Now we live on Desolation Row Living with people we hardly know. In the room the women come and go Talking of Marx and Michelangelo. And I'm just staring at the Berlin Wall Watching the children kicking the ball. I'm waiting for the night to fall And the moon to come shining on the Berlin Wall. They're marching in the streets today. They want you to take your missiles away. They said everything they can say. Now they're looking for another way. And I'm just staring at the Berlin Wall, Waiting for my destiny to call. I'm waiting for the night to fall Watching the shadows climb the Berlin Wall.
