Story Behind the Song
Coming from a musically full and diverse lifestyle and adopting Christianity as a belief system in the mid-seventies meant little variety of contemporary music to listen to. There was one shining star, Larry Norman, whose albums were like Christian contraband and difficult to get ahold of but worth the effort back in the day.
Lyrics
He's a One Way Warrior
singing a different tune
He's a One Way Warrior
back turned toward the moon
I've heard people stop and say,
"He ought not to be that way."
But he keeps marching toward the day
when we will all say
We're all
One Way Warriors
One Way Warriors
People say they think he's strange,
"When he matures, he will change."
Marching to a different beat
they say, "He's too close to the heat."
His theme comes from up above
a slightly different sound
He sings of hope amd love
a holy underground
He's a
One Way Warrior
One Way Warrior
