Story Behind the Song
Written by the banks of the Nolichucky one late summer evening. All the campers were in bed and I was sitting around the fire playing with my guitar.
The riff came into my head and I was looking to write a song specifically for some girl. It's the first song i ever wrote for someone. At one point the song was very slow and i realized that it drug way too much. I've sped it alot in the recording and how i play it now.
The song goes from through the different stages of a relationship. From first meeting, to the feeling of being in a whirlwind of emotion/wanting to run away, then to the feeling of complete fullfilment.
The last verse seems to change for me. Mabey the voice in the song is wanting desperately to give away that ring and comit the rest of his life. Other times i focus on the last line "without you"
