Story Behind the Song
NTL's first song ever. Written in Jonathan's Algebra 2 class. Its a catchy little tune about remembering the good times after a bad break up. No one got this song in one take. Lyrics took 3, Drums took 4, Guitars took 2, and John broke a bass string right after the first two measures. It came out pretty well in the end though.
Lyrics
Tonight as your staring up at me, I'm looking up to you, remembering october, drove all over this town, and the keepsake still hangs from my rear view, and though its faded, I'll never take it down, and I know you'll never make me. But I'm thinking clearly now just like the cloudless sky.
Restrain me from myself with your love, and stop me from flailing, saves me from trials unforseen. I'm trying desperately to catch up, from the start I was trailing, and I know you'll never wait for me. As my shoes scrape across the street, they make this awful sound, reminds me of the awful times, when your not around. Maybe this life is just a dream, and death just waking up. I pray if your alarm clock goes off first, you'll impatiently wait for me up above. I would never make it on my own, because I've tried and I've failed before. If you'd like to look inside my heart, just take a look in the mirror. Restrain me from myself with your love, and stop me from flailing, save me from "it was not meant to be" and if I fall, just help me up, just be the railing. And let me know, when its time to leave. Go.
