    Story Behind the Song
This song came together during a trip to Negril, Jamaica in 1988, where I enjoyed walking down the coast road, along the sea cliffs, playing my guitar and singing, with the kids skipping along-side, laughing, and the Rastas nodding approval, cheering us on with an "Irie I and I".

    Lyrics
    I've been a walking..., I wander,
    I don't know where I go, but I know where I've been.
And, I see a road, here we go.
What you say? Are you walking that way my friend?

I don't know you, but I'd like to, what you say? Let's walk a mile.
And, I don't know why, I seen you pass by,
What you say? Let's walk on into town.

Don't say maybe, it drives me crazy, the sun is climbing high.
Come or stay, and pass the day, on the road you and I.

Don't say maybe, it drives me crazy, set you down, or come along.
And, I don't know why, I seen you pass by,
What you say? Let's walk on into town.

Would you like to walk with me along the fields so green?
Would you like to walk with me, we'll go a wandering.
Don't say maybe, it drives me crazy, the sun is climbing high.
Come or stay, and pass the day, on the road you and I.
Come or stay, and pass the day, on the road you and I.
Come or stay, and pass the day, on the road you and I.
Come or stay, and pass the day, on the road you and I.
