Because of lack of money and time, this song was done with my vocals, and an artificial band. I hope that you can look past this and focus on the song itself, because I think it has good things to say.
    CD: Narrow-Minded

    Story Behind the Song
God inspired me to write this song for one simple reason: sin. There was sin in my life that I couldn't let go of, and I thought, "if I'm supposed to be an example of Christ, I need to get rid of this garbage". So, I kept trying to fix everything on my own, but God doesn't want that. He knows we can't do it on our own, which is why He sent His perfect Son to die in our place. I guess God opened my eyes to see how He was always there, and if I turn to Him then I will find that strength. That's what this song is about.

    Lyrics
    Verse 1:
    He's forgiven me
    I'm captive to embrace defeat
    My world is spinning around
And I feel like a thorn in His crown

    Pre-Chorus 1:
And a sight He can't bear to see
While His precious Son is broken for me
I look to my own sin for release
If I could break these chains, I'd be free

    Chorus:
    My all belongs to Him
And it grieves me to say
But it's not the first time I've fallen away
If I could break these chains
If I could break these chains
I know this time I'll change
If I could break these chains

    Verse:
    Lord, be my peace
Let my praises to You never cease
    Let Your Spirit resound
'Till flesh desire comes crumbling down

    Pre-Chorus 2:
    Cause I've never known liberty
'Till I found the freedom of searching on my knees
I'm sick of fighting unwinable wars
Lord, forgive me, my life is Yours

    (Chorus)

    Rap:
If I could break these chains, I would know what it means to be free
Lord rearrange and change what's in me
I felt life, not strife, it cut through me like a knife
But first I had to search the curse of birth
Why am I on this Earth, do I deserve this mirth
That was gained on God's turf?
Though I curse my brothers and curse His name I feel the shame and pain
Things don't seem to change, I move forward then I feel the same
And then I asked the Lord to break the chains
And freedom came, in His Holy Name
And so I check myself and come correct
'Cause with Jesus at my side, the requirement's met

    (Chorus, to fade-out)
