Story Behind the Song
From my time spent in the NYC club scene....
this goes to all those "cooler-than-thou" shmoes whose only talent
was doing obscene amount of drugs while the lights flashed and music blared.
Lyrics
Midnight's Heir cashes in early this time around.
Reigning hatred has worn that mighty prince out.
Riding tough until the end he lays his cards down/hoping for the chance again,
Micnight's Heir is quiet.
The rise in the East pays no mind to the beast draining the magic and love.
The love is the warmth the child went without and froze in despair at dusk.
That night the world had given up love for the all too human lust.
Lost in the souls, lost weapons and goals and the king of clubs will remain nameless.
Midnight can't bring the tears to mourn the greatest of his fears.
Who will cradle twilight tomorrow?
And stars drop tears for their greatest of fears.
Who will guide them right through their sorrow?
And peasants look on wishing that god to be gone so they could ascend to his place.
And royalty stride casual reaching highs unimaginable and the king cringes when he finds his face.
Lost in the souls, lost weapons and goals and the king of clubs still remains nameless.
His smile shines vibrantly through the flashing lights.
He sells his power for a dime to escape the heartbeat nights.
He smiles again, living large inside the halls so shameless,
his sadness shown to all his subjects, the king of clubs is nameless.
Lost in the souls, lost weapons and goals, and the king of clubs dies while he is nameless
