    Story Behind the Song
This song means a lot to me. I wrote this song as my grandfather begin to die of a broken heart.. My Grand mother is the rose garden I refer to. She loved to grow roses and was so proud of her garden. She died, and from that day my grand father began to go down hill fast. He was a proud man who worked for everything he ever had. He was a big man about 6'2" 250lbs and solid as a rock. But he could not with stand the loss of his wife of 50 years..
The intro of the song is referring to my mother (Life has washed out all of the innocence I use to see in you) who kept an optimistic front, but in her eyes you could see the break down... The song is sad but the life they led was a good one. So this song is not meant to ride on grief, it is to remember how wonderful it was to have them as grand parents... My childhood is filled with memories of them, and all of them are good... With all my Love.. to Memee and Papaw... Love Joe

    Lyrics
    Life has washed out
    all of the innocence
I use to see in you
    In some solitary stand
she hopes he can prove us all
    to be the fools
    But quietly she slips away
To go up and cry in her room

Cause when the rose garden died
    I think even she knew
It would be the end of him
They had bloomed for so many years
and gave us all the love
    that they had to give

It's all any one of us can do
To try to live our lives the way they did
And when the rose garden died
I think even she knew it would be the end of him
    When the rose garden died

    Patience may be a virtue
    But hard work
    Is what he believed in
He spent his whole life tending dirt
And there's not a place on this earth you'll find a better man

It's all any one of us can do
to try to live our lives the way he did
    And when the rose garden
I think even he knew that would be the end
    The end of him

    When the rose Garden died
