    Credits: Gary Barron

    Story Behind the Song
Gary and I were talking about music when he accused
me of not liking any kind of rap music. I
informed him that I did like some of it and I was in
the process of writing a rap song myself.
Since he reasponded that he couldn't wait to hear it
I actually had to write one.

    Lyrics
    Intro:
    Yo, Yo, Yo…..

    Verse1:
I was diggin' in my yard that sunny day when I first heard rappin' come my way
Little bitty car big speakers in the back rattlin' the windows soundin' like that
Well I thought it was a war comin'; down the street 'till I saw the little Hyundai bumpin' to the beat
I asked my friend "What's going on" he said "Yo dude, that's a rap song"

    Chorus:
What ever happened to the beauty the magic and the melodies of the
Music with meaning and harmony are they gone
    Tell me what went wrong
They never seem to get the girl anymore using inuendo no more romancing and great cresendos Songs Are Not Sweet they only have that beat.

    Verse 2:
I said there aint no music comin' out his mouth so tell me what it is a bringin' down the house
He says a few words like Yo and Gee and then they're big stars on MTV
So I told my friend nothin' wrong with me this rappin stuff I just can't see
He said "My dad sounded just like you when he told me that he couldn't stand Peggy Sue"

    Chourus:

    Verse 3:
Now try to lok back through each age when something new would be the rage
The people thought that Rock n Roll would make the young kids lose their soul
So everytime a new beat comes there's people turnin' down their thumbs
They will say like you told me "This aint the way things used to be, and by the way"

    Chours and end
