Story Behind the Song
This Song is a story about a street kid running from a killer they call the street punk.. It is set up as an interview although this is not clear in the song.. The verse is the street kid defending his part in a bad drug deal. The Chorus
is the Street Punk's response to the events that set off a hunt for the street kids life.
Lyrics
Who cares about the rules man
Ask that dude eating from the garbage can
And down the street
You can hear the one man band
Little Susie's working it for the man
Times got away of getting around
Seems like that junk always bringing me down
Somehow I got to get my kick
Just hoping that stuff don't make me sick
Yea, yea, yea, don't tell me that
I've heard your crap before
Yea, yea, yea, don't hand me that
I've heard your lies before
Ain't got no color not black or white
Don't own the land no grounds to fight
To persecute you've got to have the right No right
Don't own no secret that's not polite
Come fly down and see us here
The street kid can disappear
Come fly down and see us here
The street punk can't find us here
Yea, yea, yea, Don't tell me that
I've heard your crap before
Yea, yea, yea, don't hand me that
I've heard your lies before
Who care about the rules man
Ask that dude eating from the garbage can
And down the street
you can hear the one man band
Little Susie's working it for the man
Yea, yea, yea, don't tell me that
I've heard your crap before
Yea, yea, yea, don't hand me that
I've heard you lie before
Yea, yea, yea, don't tell me that
I've heard your crap before
Yea, yea, yea, don't hand me that
I've seen your face before
