This song reflects the euphoric feeling of waking up in paradise-like conditions every morning in Southern California. In spite of all else going on in your life, you just can't hate that setting. In fact, the love can, and will prevail. |

Story Behind the Song
I was living just north of LA and my nephew, Dickie, was coming from Minnesota for a Thanksgiving visit. It was beautiful day and I was excited about be able to work on some new music with my "good friend" again. Looking around me I realized how much I loved that place, and also realized that I was "never gonna worry about love again." The song was written in a day, and arranged over Dickie's four day visit.
Lyrics
CALIFORNIA MORNING
by Chip Sharratt and Dickie Christopher
California Morning, when the sun comes up again
I meet another day, my friend. I'm in love with life again!
You can't believe what life means to me;
Never gonna worry about love again!
How have I been getting by? Where did my values lie?
Way beyond those yesterdays; I've opened up my eyes!
I can see just how good it can be!
Never gonna worry about love again!
California Morning. Let it go to let it in.
California Morning. Horizon's never end.
The sun comes up and a mighty day begins with a California Morning! And I'm back in love again!
Gonna save the moment with a picture in my mind.
Wanna keep the memory in my heart for all of time.
Someday you'll know how that feeling grows!
Never gonna worry about love again!
California Morning) Let it go to let it in..
California Morning) Horizon's never end.
The sun comes up and a mighty day begins with a California Morning! And I'm back in love again!
(Repeat Chorus)
