	Story Behind the Song This is the opening track that kicks off The Darkside CD. Originally it segued into a song called Failure. I decided to cut it at the point where Failure would have begun to let the intro stand on its own. Eventually I may add the entire piece. The following is the only explanation I am ever going to offer on the content of The Darkside. Most Nightmare songs have a common theme of decisively confronting an evil oppressor or contending with the futility of life. These works were written during a very dark and difficult time in my life. They were inspired by actual events that I had to live through. My intent in the creation of these songs was to escape a frustrating reality in which I could not act out the deeds described therein and enter into fantasy where I could. Most art work by its very nature represents fantasy. The ideas presented in my songs exemplify the worst facets of humanity and life, thus the title "The Darkside". There are other aspects and other artists present them. This work focuses on the negative, as that was my inspiration at the time of composition. It seems absurd that I even need to introduce this point but we do live in the real world. Therefore, you must not carry out the activities described in these songs in real life.
