Sweeping layers of strings with emotional vocals. Down-played in the mix; real bass guitar, distorted guitars and other things that add to a thick sound. |

Story Behind the Song
This song was written back in 1997/8, the full song was sequenced originally in FastTrakker, but ported over to Reason in 2001, the finishing touches were added in 2002 along with a re-record of vocals, reworking of the guitar and bass. As in most of my songs, the lyrics are personal but nonspecific. I did the vocals in 4 takes, 3 takes were used (harmony), the guitar I did in 1 take same with the bass. The original intent of this song was to have no guitar, so I kept it very low it kind of blends into the background and smooths over the sound. When we play live, paul has his own guitar part (a live recording can be heard on the Fa web page).
Lyrics
why haven't you noticed, why don't you care
something left behind, escaped your stare
why have you done this, why have you left me here
it perplexes me, my dear
why will you not go there, why do you resist
some day i'll find a reason, to persist
why will you not end this, then why did you cease
something made you blind, and diseased
the pain never subsides when i look into my straining eyes
the reflections haunt my dreams they're
discerene
fading visions passed you by
never knew the reasons why
was it something i didn't mean
discerene
