    Story Behind the Song
This song may have some personal meaning for me, but i wrote it so that anyone could feel some reflection of their own life. I wrote the lyrics with a particular sound or groove in mind, that when I finally got the music going all fit into place very nicely! But didn't turn out to sound very electronic. Sequencing took the longest, i recorded my guitar and vocal tracks in only 3 takes (the last 2 were used/layered in the song) with the intention that either Paul or Erik would redo them, but time limited that. This one took a while to mix (and still could use some tweaking - that's what remixes are for!).

    Lyrics
i stand here in the doorway is this my home
i don't want to be here all alone
take me from this place i can dream no more

it's so hard to concentrate pushed too hard
always staying up so late it's gone too far
there is always something hanging there

i thought that life could offer more
thats all i really was hoping for
the emptiness of one last kiss
i knew it would all lead to this

there is a knock at my door
    stare at the wall
    the sound is getting louder
    from the hall
shouting at the top of your lungs
    will get you nowhere

i thought that life could offer more
that's all i really was hoping for
    the emptiness of chemical bliss
i knew it would all lead to this

i thought that life could offer more
that's all i really was hoping for
now as i breathe in one last breath
i taste the pain and smell the death
