    Story Behind the Song
Phillip Dale Collison, my good friend and music-duo partner wrote this song back in the mid 1980's, and we performed it a lot on the D.C. scene, mostly at the Takoma Cafe. With his blessings, I have carried it on in my solo repitoire as a song near and dear to me, and a real crowd pleaser.

    Lyrics
    Looking for the Day
(By P.D. Collison, all rights reserved.)

And you dreamed about a song.
A simple gliding melody that you can call your own.
As you stop, to see the days gone by, the people you've known.
You're wondering what it is that drives you on.

Looking for the day, and then the sun goes down.
Thinking 'bout a love you thought you'd found.
Thinking 'bout a memory passing in your sleeping mind,
You close your eyes, it'll be all right.
When you close your eyes, it'll be all right.
All right, all right, all right, It'll be all right, all right, all right,
It'll be all right, all right, all right, when you close your eyes.

And with such a steady hand, we're raising up giant castles made of sand,
And as we stop, to see the forces in command,
I'm shivering, 'cause there's simple things we cannot understand.

Looking for the day, and then the sun goes down,
Thinking 'bout a love you thought you had found,
Thinking 'bout a memory passing in your sleepy mind,
You close your eyes, it'll be all right.
When you close your eyes, it'll be all right.
When you close your eyes, it'll be all right, all right, all right all right.
It'll be all right, all right, all right. It'll be all right, all right, all right.
    When you close your eyes.
