Story Behind the Song
This is a Spiritual, almost Gospel type of tune that comes to me from time to time. I assume that at some level I'm having these conversations with God in prayer, although I'm not always consciously aware of it. What comes through is the Inspiration that then becomes the song. I'm almost always surprised at what comes out.
This song struck me pretty hard when I first wrote it and in this first incarnation I recorded a demo of it in Nashville. Went over pretty well down there.
This is the current version. I can always hear a Choir in the background, so I'm not willing to say it's the final version just yet.
Lyrics
Oh Holy, Oh Holy, Oh Holy (2)
Oh Holy Truth Sayer
How have we been
Your mighty army
Your Nation of men
Come to me quickly
I now say to you
Come to me darling
Come to me true
. . .singing
Oh Holy, Oh Holy, Oh Holy (2)
I am yours my love
Oh true as that is
I am yours forever
Let that be my wish
A wish and a whisper
On that I can assure
Love me Almighty One
Help me to mature
Oh .. Oh .. Oh .. Oh ..(3)
Gain all that you can
Standing there by Me
Gain yourself a house now
And not just a dream
A house made of courage
Sacrifice and good
A house made of pilgrimage
And no more "I should"
A house made for Love now
On that He insists
A house made for Love darling
Is how He persists
. . . singing . . .
Oh Holy, Oh Holy, Oh Holy . . .
