The Grim Reaper is a carnival clown, next to the Crone. Take your hats and

Story Behind the Song
A paean to the Godess of Death and Rebirth, this one came from outside of
me. May I be blessed with the curses of Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson,
and may they be blessed by the kisses of the Great Old Mother...to whom
"mercy" is a meaningless word. (Hint: in their cult, her name is Barbara.)
Bruce Cole - lyrics and music, rhythm guitar, vocals; Glenn Dubois - bass;
Greg McGowan - rhythm and lead guitars; Jeff Densmore - drums. Recorded and
mixed at Sunset House Studios, Waldo, Maine - Glenn Dubois, engineer
Lyrics
Take your religion and you take your brain
Take your apparition and you take your weathervane
Take 'em down to the market
Take 'em down today
Take 'em all to the lady in the shawl
On the dock where the dealers play:
That's Old Rosalee
That's Old Rosalee
That's Old Rosalee
That's Old Rosalee
Take your muntion on your Lionel train
Take your abolition and you take your aftershave
Take 'em down to the market
Take 'em down tonight
Take 'em down to where the streetlamp
Burns like a moon on fire:
There's Old Rosalee
There's Old Rosalee
There's Old Rosalee
There's Old Rosalee
Take your postion and your ill-gotten gain
Take your statistician, maybe he can explain
Take 'em down to the market
Take 'em down to the sea
Take 'em down with what remains
Of your sanity
Take 'em down to Rosalee
Take 'em down to Rosalee
Take 'em down to Rosalee
Take 'em down to Rosalee, boys.
(repeat 1st half of 1st verse
